What Happens When You Eat ALL of Your Dinner...

INCLUDING THE VEGETABLES!
Well you get to indulge in a special treat of course!

Max contemplates a life without icecream.
I wonder if you can make icecream out of soy milk??

The Day the Dishwasher Died

Sadly today we lost our dishwasher! It was declared officially deceased when the repairman told me it would cost at least $500 to fix. It has been out of order for 2 weeks now so Molly has seen me doing quite a bit of washing up in rubber gloves. She wanted to get in on the action today and this is the result.

Up to her elbows in dishes. Just like Mummy!

A New Trick

Max has another new trick to show Daddy when he gets home tomorrow night.

Rainy Day Fun

We had some very heavy rain this afternoon. Molly hasn't seen all that much rain in her short life and she gets so much pleasure from jumping in puddles. Today she was quick to grab her new gumboots and raincoat and get splashing!

The Simple Things

We had a visit today from Rhonda, Tom and Jorja. I snapped these while the kids were having a great time washing their hands together. Remind me again, why do we buy all of those toys?

Balloons

Yesterday I took M&M to Kate's 1st birthday party and Molly took home 2 balloons. They provided lots of fun for M&M this morning as they fooled around in Molly's bedroom.

A Trip to the Shops

No trip to a shopping centre would be complete without a ride.

Max was happy to watch Molly have all the fun. He thought it was a hoot!

Just like Daddy's

A new coffee shop opened recently in our rebuilt shopping centre and with that began a new ritual for the Walkerden family. Started by our resident coffee lover, Daddy, most days now involve a walk or bike ride to the shop for a coffee and cake. This morning Molly announced to me, "Mummy, I'm a bit hungry. We need to go to the shop for a cake!" So off we went in the double stroller. Molly had a biscuit and a cup of milk and was delighted when I put a lid on it because it was "just like Daddy's coffee".

Yeah! I needed that!

Max has the best seat in the house.

Big Boy's Lunch

If you are a regular reader of this blog then you may have noticed a lot of photos of Max in his high chair. What can I say? My boy loves his food!

We have introduced a new lunch menu this week. Max now has a sandwich and a banana smoothie (made with soy milk thanks to his milk allergy) for lunch. Here are a few pictures of him getting used to the idea.

What's this you've given me Mum?

Really? You think I'm ready for this?

Oh ..... I'm not sure about this!

OK. Here goes!

The Secret of My Success

I have been dreading these 2 weeks while Dave is away, not just because I miss him desperately, having not been apart for more than 36 hrs since the day we met, but because he is always around to pitch in during those crazy evening hours of dinner, bath and bedtime. I just wasn't sure I was up to the task of managing M&M on my own during the "witching hours".

Enter Madison, my saving grace! Madison lives next door and Molly just adores her. She has agreed to help me out between 4.30 and 6.30 each night that Dave is away. She plays with Molly, feeds Max, gives Molly her bath and even tidies up the toys. She truly is an angel!

Here is Molly drawing her Daddy. "He's very big!" she said.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

M&M's Daddy left today for a 2 week business trip to Brisbane.
We already miss him terribly :(

Look who tried to stow away in Daddy's suitcase.

It seems Daddy was an accomplice!

Trying to see Daddy waving.

A few more shots just because I think they are the most beautiful kids in the world.

Hurry home Daddy!
