Can You Make a Dancing Face?

It was the end of a long hot day and M&M were over being in the car.

Time to crank up the music and have a good old sing-a-long.

Justine Clarke's Dancing Face
verse 2

Ruffle your hair

Puff your cheeks

Pull your ears

Click your teeth

Eyebrows up

Eyebrows down

Make a smile

Make a frown

Put it together, that's all it takes

For you to make a dancing face

And cheer up the kids!

Priceless!

Kicking back

This may look like Molly was relaxing on the lounge....
anything but!

It took bribery to get her to sit still long enough to photograph her feet.

I think it was $1 well spent....

but then I am addicted to my new camera ;)

A Swim at Nanny's House

We had a belated birthday celebration for M&M's Aunty Judy today.

After some lunch and birthday cake we had a swim and tried out M&M's new flotation devices.

Molly was not too keen on trusting her swim vest to keep her afloat so she used the ring as well. With both of these she felt very confident and buzzed around the pool happily, even jumping in off a step a few times. This is a big deal for Molly and as you can see she was pretty proud of herself.

Max looked like a mini Michelan Man with his new swim suit with built in floaties. He was also much happier with a swim ring. His is a seat he can sit in, leaving both hands free to splash anyone in his path.

First he picks his target....

Here we go ....

SPLLLLLASHHHH!

Hey! No splashing back!

Just kidding!

A Sunny Afternoon

It was quite hot yesterday, so late in the afternoon when it was bearable, the kids got out in the backyard to have some fun.

Lunch

Today M&M ate lunch together sitting on the big stools at our kitchen bench. It seems our days of owning a high chair are numbered!

Introducing Captain Vegemite Face ....

and his side kick Serious Face Girl.

They are growing up way too fast!

The Joy of Reading

Molly was reading a story to Max this afternoon and I managed to capture it. They really enjoy each other's company these days. It is beautiful to watch. In the photo on the right Max is roaring like the lion in the book.

I know I have gone a little over the top with the story boards this week but I am taking so many photos for this challenge that I can't choose just one or two. That's my excuse anyway!

Waking Up

This is Max just woken up from a long nap.

Morning Already??

Max loves his cot and this morning he was in no hurry to leave it. His big sister had already visited him and given him some books to read so that was where he wanted to stay until he was REALLY awake.

Here are the individual photos in case you want a closer look.

Bugs, Bugs and More Bugs!

I was trying to get a photo this afternoon for the photo a day challenge. We were running out of light and time and we were plagued by insects. First a ladybird landed on Molly's leg and then a fly on her face. I had to clone it out with Photoshop.

This is the after shot (not bad for a PS novice I thought)....

And the before cloning version below.

Self Feeding

The time has come!
Max reached for the spoon the other day and meal times as we know them are over!

Good technique with the spoon.

Going pretty well.

"Maybe my hand would work better," thinks Max

"MMMM, yeah that works!"

"Stand back everyone. I'm going in!"

"Oops Mum! I think I made a mess."

A Day In the Life

I have entered a challenge to take and post a photo a day during January to a Flickr group.

This means the camera is out a lot and the blog will be busy this month. Here a few shots from today. I found it hard to choose just one.

You can follow my progress here if you are interested.
