Happy Birthday Charlie

Today was Charlie's 1st birthday party. The weather was perfect, the company wonderful and the setting divine! A great day all round. M&M had a lot of fun too!

Here is the birthday girl with her mum and dad.

Max had his heart set on a beer....

.....but just couldn't get anyone to open the esky for him!

So he played with his cars instead.

For Molly, birthdays are all about cake. She was the first one to the cake table....

....and didn't let her favourite one out of her sight for a second.

Max had some serious exploring to do.

While Molly had a few moments of solitude.

She was soon heading back to the action.

It was a glorious day. Thanks to Bel and Corey for inviting us all.

Mmmmmm Watermelon!

Masterpiece in the Making

Overcrowded Cubby

Some may call it crowded, Molly calls it cosy!

"Sorry, no room for more!"

"That's just cruel! I'm calling the RSPCA!"

Totally Tubular

The Phone Call

"HELLO! Can you hear me now?"

"Molly, I think it's for you."

"Do you mind?? I'm on the phone!"

Bruiser

Max has been walking everywhere for a couple of weeks now.

Mobility comes at a price!

Round and Round the Garden...

Guaranteed to raise a smile!

Max's all time favourite game to play with Nanny!

The Good China

When friends come over Molly breaks out "the good china".

Any excuse for a tea party really!

Feeding Bubba

The other day I walked into Max's room and this is what I saw.

Priceless!

The Main Event

On the day of Molly's party she woke with a terrible cold. She was as sick as we have ever seen her. We had to warn all of the guests and let them make their own decision about whether to attend or not. After all the party must go on. How on earth do you tell a 3 yr old that her long awaited party is canceled?

Molly put on a brave face and prepared to party.

There were presents to open

and enjoy.

and candles to blow out. You can see here how unwell she was.

See Max helping to blow out the candles?

Molly didn't even eat any cake. Now that is a sick girl!

In the end it was all tooo much and when the last guest left she crashed on Daddy's lap.

Max had no idea what all the fuss was about. He just wanted to make sure he didn't miss his beloved Wubbzy!

Karen and Holly Come to Visit.

Karen and Holly came to visit from California.

I stayed with Karen and her family in 1998 when I was in the US. They live a stone's throw away from Disneyland. I stayed in Holly's room at the time and she was only 3. That's Holly in the red head band. She starts High School "in the fall".

We had a lovely lunch and a chance to catch up at Allison and Rodney's house. Here are the kids all together.

We last saw them when they visited for the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Lets hope it isn't another 7 years until we see them again.

Many Hands Make Light Work

Molly got a big girl's bed for her birthday but we needed to paint it before it could be assembled. Molly was an enthusiastic helper.

Those Cheeks!

Love him to bits!!

Rain, rain go away!

The best thing about the rain is getting to wear your new raincoat and boots.
