Fun at Maccas

We didn't get out much this weekend so we decided to take the kids to Maccas for dinner on Sunday night so that Molly could have a play in the playground. Molly quickly disappeared into the maze of tubes and Max waited eagerly for her to appear at the bottom of the slide.

Then it was time for some dinner and Max sampled some fries.

He was suitably impressed.

It was a great way to finish off the weekend.

Play With Me Daddy!

We have moved the furniture around in our house (yes again) to try and find some space for all of our stuff and in the process the X Box found it's way back inside from the garage. Molly and Daddy had to put it through its paces of course. Molly thought she was pretty special with her own steering wheel. Whatever you do don't tell her it doesn't work.

Meanwhile Max was having the time of his life in his Jolly Jumper. This shot is blurry (because he wouldn't stop moving for a second) but I thought it captured the mood very well.

Jumping Princesses

Jorja came to play with Molly today after playgroup.
They had a great time together playing with the babies, dressing up and jumping on the trampoline, sometimes all at once.

Max discovered a love of ride-ons at playgroup today.

It had to happen! It does have wheels and he is a Walkerden after all!

Farewell Aunty Joyce

M&M's Great Great Aunty Joyce passed away last week at the grand old age of 95. Sadly Max never had the chance to meet Aunty Joyce but Molly did. This photo was taken when Molly was 7 months old.


M&M attended the funeral with me yesterday and were beautifully behaved during the service. I showed Molly this photo and explained to her that we were going to say goodbye to Aunty Joyce.

That Wascaly Wabbit!

No really Kimba the rabbit is very friendly and well behaved.
Molly enjoyed her cuddle while at Nanny's house today.

Ben's Birthday Party

Molly and Max's cousin Benjamin turned 5 on Australia Day and his party was held last weekend at Lollipops Playland. The birthday boy was never still for long enough to get a photo so here are M&M enjoying themselves.

Max on the Move

Max has decided that crawling is more efficient than rolling when it comes to getting to your sister's toys in a hurry.

Australia Day

We spent Australia Day with some very good friends who invited us to breakfast in the Royal National Park. The weather was superb and the setting so picturesque!
It was a wonderful way to start the day.

While Molly took on more active pursuits.

We took the opportunity to have a couple of family photos taken.
Usually one of us is taking the photo so this is only the 2nd time we have managed a photo with all 4 of us in it!

A Visit from Nanny

Nanny came to visit M&M on Saturday. Molly was in her element with her favourite play mate. She repeatedly told Nanny "You have to......". We tried to add "Would you please ......?" to her vocab but it didn't seem to stick very well!

We had a picnic on the lounge room floor (it was VERY hot outside).

Look who wears her hair up now!

One of Molly's favourite games right now is to give her toys voices and act out scenes, usually recreations of our daily activities. Here she has Nanny giving a voice to "Mummy Tigger" while she voiced "Baby Tigger".

Max had a lamb cutlet for dinner again tonight.

A Day at the Beach

Yesterday we headed to the beach to take advantage of the lovely weather. We were all looking forward to a swim right up until the moment we stepped into the freezing cold water. So after a brief paddle, a spot of lunch, some sandcastle building and a little time in the playground we called it a day.

The Bond Between Siblings

Molly and Max have such a close bond.
The love and admiration are mutual and just beautiful to watch.

Dummies are Ditched .... Nappies are Next!

Molly has relinquished her dummies to the dummy fairy with very little fall out. The first night was tough, the second night was a little unsettled but by the third there was not even a whimper. This morning I feared a setback when Molly came into our bedroom in the morning. As she went to climb into our bed she turned and ran to her room saying "I'll get my dummy". I waited for the pleading and protests but they never came. Instead she said, completely unprompted, "I'm a big girl. I don't need a dummy."

After a false start in the middle of December, we are again tackling TOILET TRAINING! We have talked a lot about Molly being a big girl and big girls not wearing nappies and it may be getting in. Yesterday we went shopping and bought some new undies. Gotta love Dora the Explorer, My Little Pony and Dorothy the Dinosaur undies and just how much they can motivate a two and a half year old girl. Day one saw about Four accidents and one successful trip to the potty for a wee! The success was followed by a "Potty Party" complete with balloons and cake. Later the balloons moved to the trampoline for some fun to bounce off all that sugar energy.

The First Family Ride

Today the four of us went for a bike ride together. Our first family ride!

Finally the weather, equipment and sleeping patterns were all working in our favour and we got our chance to turn the legs over and give Max his first taste of cycling. He loved it.
